O-Town talkin about their Comeback!

Interview with klatsch-tratsch.de

´The boyband O-Town wants to know it once again and opens a new chapter with their new single „Skydive“.

This time, without heartthrob Ashley Parker, Dan, Trevor, Jacob and Erik are going to capture hearts again. Klatsch-tratsch.de journalist Tari met the four guys for a talk.

The past ten years since the band split a lot has happend. The four guys went into different directions. Erik tried starting a solo career, Trevor took acting lessons and Dan and Jacob went to college and got degrees in Design and Management. These expieriences are now an advantage.

„I think we did a lot of different things in the past years. Now we are going to put it all together and use what we have learned for our fans. Dan for example does all the graphic design for us, he does the Artwork. Jacob took over management and organisation due to his business management degree. Trevor takes care of performance and live shows and I write songs.“ says Erik.

Before they decided to do a Comeback, they did talk to their ex bandmember Ashley but he said no.
„Ashley and the four of us are still friends, but he didn't want to be part of the reunion, and we accepted his decision.“

There was still a little reason to cancel the comeback. „In the beginning we were sad and got nervous, because we thought we couldn't make it without him. But when we went into the studio and recorded „Skydive“ we knew that we didn't need him with us to do this.“

The reason why they split up all those years ago is easy to explain. Too much work! „The band lasted four years and we were overworked. After our contracts ran out we just wanted to take a break. We were young, tired and frustrated because we didnt have control over our career like we wanted to. Looking back you could say that we wouldn't be sitting here without our success back then.“

Right now O-Town are working on their new studio album and told us a few details and of course theres the „Skydive“ sneak peak. „We would say that „Skydive“ is more dramatic than our old songs. It is a Popsong of course but it is by far the most grown up song we have recorded and released so far. Our album will be a mix out of all of our favorite musikgenres. There's lots of guitars, strong voices, dancetracks and of course ballads. But most of it its music from today.“´
